  1. 21. Multiscale methods for simulation of paper making

    Författare :Gustav Kettil; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Paper making; Numerical upscaling; Lay down simulations; Virtual paper sheets; Fiber network model; Forming fabric flow; Fiber suspension flow; Fiber-fiber interaction; Multiscale methods; Fluid structure interaction;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, multiscale methods for simulation of paper making are developed. The emphasis is on simulation of the paper forming process and simulation of the mechanical properties of paper sheets. To simulate paper forming, a novel fiber-fiber interaction method is proposed. 2. 22. The Exhibitionary Complex : Exhibition, Apparatus, and Media from Kulturhuset to the Centre Pompidou, 1963–1977

    Författare :Kim West; Sven-Olov Wallenstein; Helena Mattson; Felicity D. Scott; Södertörns högskola; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Modern and contemporary art exhibitions; modern and contemporary art museums; apparatus; dispositif; exhibitionary complex; exhibition history; museology; media archaeology; aesthetics; Moderna Museet; Kulturhuset; Centre Pompidou; Museum Computer Network; Filialen; Kritisk kulturteori; Critical and Cultural Theory; Östersjö- och Östeuropaforskning; Baltic and East European studies;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation traces the history of a diagram. The diagram shows four circles of gradually diminishing sizes, lodged one inside the other, like the layers of a circular or spherical body. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Survivability control using data-driven approaches and reliability analysis for wave energy converters

    Författare :Zahra Shahroozi; Jens Engström; Malin Göteman; Lars Johanning; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Wave energy, with five times the energy density of wind and ten times the power density of solar, offers a compelling carbon-free electricity solution. Despite its advantages, ongoing debates surround the reliability and economic feasibility of wave energy converters (WECs). LÄS MER

  4. 24. Detection and Aptness: A study in metaphor detection and aptness assessment through neural networks and distributional semantic spaces

    Författare :Yuri Bizzoni; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; metaphor detection; deep neural network; distributional semantic spaces; metaphor aptness;

    Sammanfattning : Metaphor is one of the most prominent, and most studied, figures of speech. While it is considered an element of great interest in several branches of linguistics, such as semantics, pragmatics and stylistics, its automatic processing remains an open challenge. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Towards Model-Based Condition Monitoring of Railway Switches and Crossings

    Författare :Marko Milosevic; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sleeper void; Switches crossings; condition indicators; embedded sleeper accelerometer; multi-body simulations; dynamic vehicle–track interaction; MBS; S C; wheel–rail contact forces; condition monitoring; crossing rail geometry; displacement reconstruction.; model calibration;

    Sammanfattning : Railway switches and crossings (S&C, turnouts) connect different track sections and create a railway network by allowing for trains to change between tracks. This functionality comes at a cost as the load-inducing rail discontinuities in the switch and crossing panels cause much higher degradation rates for S&C compared to regular plain line track. LÄS MER
