  2. 27. Environmental fate of chemicals released from consumer products : Multimedia modelling strategies

    Författare :Anna Palm Cousins; Michael McLachlan; Antonio Di Guardo; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Multimedia fate model; urban model; PBDEs; phthalate esters; indoor environment; emissions; exposure; BDE 209; DINP; DEHP; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis was to assess the environmental fate and transport of chemicals emitted from consumer products through the development and application of modelling tools. The following hypotheses were tested: i) Multimedia fate models can be applied in a multistage assessment process to emerging chemicals when limited knowledge exists to identify the likely environmental fate and to direct further research; ii) the indoor environment acts as a source of anthropogenic substances in consumer products to the outdoor environment; and iii) chemical removal pathways in the indoor environment are important for the fate of organic chemicals in densely populated areas. 4. 29. Design optimisation of aeroengine compressor blades

    Författare :Jörgen Burman; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Strömningslära; Fluid Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : Optimisation of multistage axial compressors is a time-demanding challenge in large need of effective methods. Traditionally, the design has been based on "trial-and-error" procedures, which count on the skills and experience of the designer to suggest redesigns that are likely to yield improvements. LÄS MER
