    Sammanfattning : The dynamical components of six isolated barred spiral (SB) galaxies are investigated. No evidence is found supporting the hypothesis of a low amount of dark matter being characteristic of SB galaxies. The presence of companion galaxies is found to correlate with an increased statistical spread in the neutral hydrogen (HI) extent. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : To date, around 180 different molecules have been identified in the interstellar medium (ISM). Some of them form molecular ices on cold interstellar dust grain surfaces. An interstellar dust grain particle is in the order of nanometres in size and is usually composed of a carbonaceous or silicatious grain core. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Mass loss, in the form of slow stellar winds, is a decisive factor for the evolution of cool luminous giants, eventually turning them into white dwarfs. These dense outflows are also a key factor in the enrichment of the interstellar medium with newly produced elements from the interior of these stars. LÄS MER
