26. Urinary and faecal incontinence among older women and men in relation to other health complaints, quality of life and dependency
Sammanfattning : Aim: The aim of this thesis was to investigate type, degree and patterns of health complaints, need for help and health-related quality of life across gender among persons aged 75?105 as well as to identify how patterns of health complaints, gender, age and socio-economic factors related to need for help with daily activities and quality of life (Paper I). The aim was also to investigate the prevalence of self-reported symptoms of urinary, faecal and double incontinence among men and women aged 75 and above, and to identify how other health complaints and quality of life relate to incontinence symptoms (Paper II). 27. Long-term outcome after traumatic brain injury : studies of individuals from northern Sweden
Sammanfattning : As traumatic brain injury (TBI) is as one of the major causes of long-term disability, there is an increasing interest in the long-term outcome of TBI. The overall aim of this thesis was to increase our knowledge and understanding of the situation for individuals many years post injury, with regard to demographics, injury characteristics and primary outcome, long-term functioning and disability, health-related quality of life, life satisfaction, self-appraisal of the impact of the TBI and sense of coherence. Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to deepen the understanding of work ability by analyzing how different health professionals experience and perceive work ability and assessments of work ability, and also by analyzing rehabilitation outcomes that are related to work ability.
