  1. 16. Time-dependent climate impact of short rotation coppice willow–based systems for electricity and heat production

    Författare :Niclas Ericsson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Fossil fuel use and man-made land use change has increased carbon dioxide (CO₂) levels in the atmosphere, contributing to climate impacts such as global warming. Perennial crops such as short rotation coppice (SRC) willow have received attention because of their potential to sequester carbon (C) from the atmosphere and build up soil organic carbon stocks while producing biomass which can be used to generate energy services. 2. 17. Investigations of proton conducting polymers and gas diffusion electrodes in the polymer electrolyte fuel cell

    Författare :Peter Gode; Göran Lindbergh; Steven Holdcraft; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Theoretical chemistry; polymer electrolyte fuel cell; proton conducting membrane; porous electrode; gas permeability; degradation; water transport; Teoretisk kemi; Theoretical chemistry; Teoretisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFC) convert the chemically bound energy in a fuel, e.g. hydrogen, directly into electricity by an electrochemical process. Examples of future applications are energy conversion such as combined heat and power generation (CHP), zero emission vehicles (ZEV) and consumer electronics. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Analysis of gas turbine systems for sustainable energy conversion

    Författare :Marie Anheden; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Increased energy demands and fear of global warming due tothe emission of greenhouse gases call for development of newefficient power generation systems with low or no carbondioxide(CO2) emissions. In this thesis, two different gasturbine power generation systems, which are designed with theseissues in mind, are theoretically investigated and analyzed. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Bio-refinery system integrated with pulp and paper mills using black liquor gasification

    Författare :Muhammad Naqvi; Jinyue Yan; Mats Westermark; Klas Engvall; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bio-refinery; biomass; black liquor gasification; bio-fuel; pulp mill; CO2; coversion efficiency; integration; synthesis gas; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Mitigation of climate change and energy security are major driving forces for increased biomass energy utilization. The pulp and paper industry consumes a large proportion of biomass worldwide that include bark, wood residues, and black liquor. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Spectroscopic Studies of Low Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells

    Författare :Mikael Holber; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Fuel cell technology is one of the many competing technologies in the future of energy conversion and transport. With a growing demand for efficient, versatile and environmental friendly alternatives to the internal combustion engine, fuel cells show promising potential where batteries and grid-electricity are not available.
