  1. 21. Environmental assessment of emerging technologies: the case of biopolymers

    Författare :Selim Nouri; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; life cycle assessment; cost assessment; environmental assessment; process modeling; biopolymer;

    Sammanfattning : Current efforts to mitigate climate change, using renewable resources and reducing waste, drives the development of new industrial processes. In this study we examine the technologies for conversion of biomass to plastics. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Environmental Assessment and Strategic Technology Choice : The Case of Renewable Transport Fuels

    Författare :Karl Hillman; Björn Sandén; Ken Green; Göteborg Chalmers Tekniska Högskola Miljösystemanalys Institutionen för energi och miljö; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; environmental assessment; life cycle assessment LCA ; socio-technical change; strategic technology choice; renewable fuels;

    Sammanfattning : The scale of the required changes is huge, and time is limited if we are to avoid the most severe effects of climate change. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions from road transport, several fuels and electricity originating from renewable energy sources have been proposed, all of them in different stages of development and with various and shifting environmental impacts. 3. 23. Life Cycle Assessment of Building Products. Case Studies and Methodology

    Författare :Åsa Jönsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VOCs; environmental assessment; floorings; methods; LCA; concrete; indoor climate; Life Cycle Assessment; structural frames; building materials; steel; tools;

    Sammanfattning : The main objectives of this thesis were to demonstrate how Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) may be applied to building products, to describe what methodological LCA issues are specific to building products, to work out solutions to some of these issues and to relate LCA to other environmental assessment methods that may be applied to building products. First, in a literature study, the state of the art in the field of environmental assessment of building products is described, and the five articles constituting the thesis are put into context.
