16. Exploring Brain Gene Expression i Animal Models of Behaviour
Sammanfattning : The genetic basis for behavioural traits is largely unknown. The overall aim of this thesis was to find genes with importance for behavioural traits related to fear and anxiety. Microarray analysis was used to screen expression profiles of brain regions important for emotional behaviour in dogs, wolves, foxes and mice. LÄS MER
17. Targeted proteomics methods for protein quantification of human cells, tissues and blood
Sammanfattning : The common concept in this thesis was to adapt and develop quantitative mass spectrometric assays focusing on reagents originating from the Human Protein Atlas project to quantify proteins in human cell lines, tissues and blood. The work is based around stable isotope labeled protein fragment standards that each represent a small part of a human protein-coding gene. LÄS MER
18. The genetic mechanism that links Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome to physiological aging
Sammanfattning : Aging is a complex process that is not completely understood. The study of segmental progeroid syndromes such as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS) has allowed us to connect the common genetic mechanisms that occur in normal physiological aging, with the cellular alterations presented by this severe premature aging syndrome. 19. Accounting standard-setting through adaptation: Models and Contextual Factors in the Case of the Swedish Standard K3
Sammanfattning : Back cover text: As an alternative to drafting standards from scratch, many accounting standard-setters make use of existing standards. Thereby, they adopt an existing standard or use an existing standard as a model subject to adaptation. In national accounting standard-setting, adoption typically proves neither desirable nor possible. LÄS MER
20. Functional epigenetic analyses in the context of psychiatric health in adolescence
Sammanfattning : Adolescence is a unique and formative period for learning and developing skills and abilities for adulthood. The prevalence of mental health problems in adolescents is estimated to 10-20%, being a major risk for suicide, social and academic impairments. Suicide is the third leading cause of death in older adolescents (15-19 years). LÄS MER
