    Författare :Christer Edlund; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Unstable detrusor; overactive bladder; detrusor hyperreflexia; lidocaine; electric nerve stimulation; neuromodulation; sacral nerve stimulation; urodynamics.;

    Sammanfattning : The overactive bladder (OB) is a symptom of disturbed neuromuscular control of the lower urinary tract. The cause is sometimes obvious, but even a lesion that is minor and difficult to detect might be of significance. LÄS MER

    Författare :Tryggve Nevéus; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Obstetrics and gynaecology; nocturnal enuresis; children; desmopressin; osmoregulation; sleep; arousal; detrusor instability; incontinence; oxybutynin; Obstetrik och kvinnosjukdomar; Obstetrics and women s diseases; Obstetrik och kvinnosjukdomar; pediatrik; Pediatrics;

    Sammanfattning : Opinions differ as to whether nocturnal enuresis is caused by high arousal thresholds, nocturnal polyuria or nocturnal bladder instability. In spite of the currently available therapeutic options - the antidiuretic drug desmopressin and alarm treatment - approximately 25% of children suffering from enuresis cannot be successfully treated. 4. 4. Bladder function in infants. A urodynamic and radiologic study

    Författare :Marc Bachelard; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Infants; bladder function; urodynamics; urinary tract infection; dilating reflux; videocystometry.;

    Sammanfattning : Objective: The aims of the present study were to establish a reference for urodynamics in infancy, to study the urodynamic pattern of infants with urinary tract infection (UTI) and of infants with dilating vesicoureteral reflux (reflux), and to evaluate if bladder dysfunction was occurring in these conditions. In addition, the possibilities to identify bladder instability in infants at voiding cystourethrography (VCU) were evaluated. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Nitric oxide : a marker for inflammation in the lower urinary tract

    Författare :Abolfazl Hosseini; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The main aim of this work is to investigate the role of Nitric oxide (NO) as a diagnostic marker for inflammation in the lower urinary tract. NO exerts multiple modulating effects on inflammation and plays a key role in the regulation of immune responses. NO is formed enzymatically in vivo from Larginine by several NO synthases (NOS).
