1. Evaluation of isovolumic myocardial motions in human subjects using tissue velocity echocardiography
Sammanfattning : Colour-coded tissue velocity imaging (TVE) with Echocardiography is an established method for evaluation of the global cardiac function and of the regional myocardial movements. The TVE-technique allows measurements of velocity and deformation variables from any discrete point in the myocardial wall during the cardiac cycle with high temporal and longitudinal spatial resolution. 2. Towards an Early Holocene Tephrochronology for the Faroe Islands: Methodology and first results
Sammanfattning : The uncertainties regarding future climate change have put considerable notice to the climate variability following the Late Glacial-Holocene transition (ca. 13-9 ka BP) in the North Atlantic region as well as the forcing mechanisms behind climate changes. LÄS MER
3. Tephra horizons in the North Atlantic region during the Early Holocene
Sammanfattning : Uncertainties about the rate and magnitude of future climate change have drawn attention to the climate variability following the Late Glacial-Early Holocene transition, c. 12-8 ka BP. LÄS MER
4. Prenatal Tisse Velocity Imaging of the Heart : A new approach to assess fetal myocardial function
Sammanfattning : The general aim of this thesis has been to evaluate color‐coded tissue velocity imaging (TVI) as an approach to developing a new, non‐invasive assessment method for fetal myocardial function. Such a method could hypothetically give early indications of fetal pathology, as myocardial dysfunction is often the consequence when the circulation tries to adapt to deteriorating situations.
