41. Media technology versus communication patterns in the organizational interface
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes communication ecology in organizations. One of the main objectives is to identify "ecological balance" which, initially and metaphorically, is described as interaction of senses. The focus is on the systemic relationships between media and communication modes with certain "sensory bias". LÄS MER
42. The Multimodal Transfer Matrix Method : And its application to higher-symmetric periodic structures
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the understanding and computation of the dispersion properties of periodic structures possessing higher symmetries with the multimodal transfer matrix method (MMTMM). Periodic structures with higher symmetries are invariant after additional symmetry operations over the translation operation. LÄS MER
43. Design and analysis of diagnostic systems utilizing structural methods
Sammanfattning : Today many technical processes are complex and highly integrated. When a process has failed, the complexity of the process makes it hard for humans to troubleshoot it. LÄS MER
44. Acquiring competence to create and sustain competitive advantages : a study of four small high technology firms
Sammanfattning : The research questions addressed in this licentiate thesis are; How can small firms acquire competence? What factors can be identified as important for understanding how competence is acquired in small firms? Why are these factors important? Three factor groups are included in building a preliminary model of competence acquisition; the entrepreneur, the business concept, and the competence base which are identified in the literature as affecting competence acquisition. The surrounding environment is seen as a platform for the acquisition of competence. LÄS MER
45. Developing Computational Tools for Modern Aeroacoustic Research
Sammanfattning : The thesis presents the author s research on numerical methods for Com-putational Aeroacoustics and the development of computational tools with direct applicability in industry. The designers in the gas-turbine industry, require accurate methods for predicting the onset and the frequencies of dangerous (pressure) oscillations, like the ones which typically occur in Lean Premixed Pre-vaporized (LPP) combustors.
