11. Corrosion of steel bars in fibre reinforced concrete: corrosion mechanisms and structural performance
Sammanfattning : The viability of employing fibre reinforcement to improve the durability performance of RC structures by delaying and/or reducing rebar corrosion and by mitigating the structural impact of corrosion-induced damage have been investigated. Given the enhanced crack control of FRC, it could be advantageous to use fibres in civil engineering structures to decrease the ingress of corrosion-initiation substances. LÄS MER
12. Chloride transport and reinforcement corrosion in the vicinity of the transition zone between substrate and repair concrete
Sammanfattning : One of the major degradation problems in concrete structures is chloride initiated reinforcement corrosion resulting in cracked, spalled and delaminated concrete. Thesedamages are repaired for large amounts of money and because of high repair costs it is important to perform durable repairs. LÄS MER
13. Superheater corrosion in biomass and waste fired boilers : Characterisation, causes and prevention of chlorine-induced corrosion
Sammanfattning : Biomass and waste fired boilers suffer severely from corrosion of critical components such as superheater tubes. In this work high temperature corrosion of superheater alloys, and methods to mitigate the problem, have been investigated by laboratory studies and controlled field exposures in commercial boilers. 14. Service life of repaired concrete bridge decks
Sammanfattning : Pre-mature deterioration of reinforced concrete causesproblems world-wide and the search for reliable cost effectiveand environmental friendly repairs is intense. The service lifeof the repaired structure is important in order to establishthe annual cost and environmental impact for differentalternatives. LÄS MER
15. Experimental studies of ion transport in cementitious materials under partially saturated conditions
Sammanfattning : Cement production is responsible for a significant portion of manmade CO2 emissions. This motivates the development of cementitious binders with a lower carbon footprint. Considering the emissions in a longer perspective, the durability of concrete structures is absolutely essential. LÄS MER
