Sammanfattning : In this thesis, organic residues preserved in ancient pottery are used to reconstruct diversity andchange in the foodways of Late Holocene hunter-gatherer communities in coastal northern Hokkaido(1750 BCE–1250 CE). Sammanfattning : This dissertation investigates the day-to-day activities that sustained human societies in the arctic and subarctic environments of North America and Siberia over the past 1500 years. Maintenance activities, such as food preparation, childcare, and the care of domestic animals, are commonly inflected by social identity and can provide insight into the experience of gender among archaeological and historical populations. 19. The Lenaia vases revisited : image, ritual and Dionysian women
Sammanfattning : This study deals with the so-called Lenaia vases, a group of fifty vases which were painted with similar imagery in Attica during 490-420 BC. The motifs of these vases depict "Dionysian" women, drinking wine and sacrificing bloody and bloodless offerings before a cult image of Dionysos. LÄS MER
