16. On the trade-off between uncertainty and delay in UWB and 5G localization
Sammanfattning : Location-aware technologies in combination with emerging wireless communication systems have revolutionized many aspects of our daily lives by means of applications within the commercial, public and military sectors. Ultra-wideband (UWB) and 5G stand out as emerging radio frequency (RF) based technologies that tackle the limitations of Global Positioning System solutions. LÄS MER
17. Radio and Sensor Interfaces for Energy-autonomous Wireless Sensing
Sammanfattning : Along with rapid development of sensing and communication technology, Internet of Things (IoTs) has enabled a tremendous number of applications in health care, agriculture, and industry. As the fundamental element, the wireless sensing node, such as radio tags need to be operating under micro power level for energy autonomy. LÄS MER
18. Design, Fabrication and Characterization of Microwave Passive Devices on Liquid Crystal Polymer Substrates
Sammanfattning : For microwave/millimeter (mm)-wave systems’ applications, as frequency is moving towards higher and higher bands, materials and integration technologies are witnessing higher performance demands and constraints. The materials presently used as mm-wave substrates are either expensive or show unsatisfactory performance. LÄS MER
19. EM Design for New Ultra Wide Band Technologies: Eleven Feed Baluns, Bowtie Antennas and Gap Waveguides
Sammanfattning : UWB (ultra wideband), depending on the application requirement, is usually referred to more than 500 MHz bandwidth for radio/wireless applications. Here in this thesis it is also used to denote extremely wideband antennas and components of several octaves bandwidth, particularly for high frequency applications. LÄS MER
20. Ultra-Wideband Low-Noise Amplifier andSix-Port Transceiver for High Speed DataTransmission
Sammanfattning : Today’s data rates in wired networks can reach 100 Gbit/s using optical fiber while data rates in wireless networks are much lower - tens of Mbit/s for 3G mobile communication and 480 Mbit/s for ultra-wideband (UWB) short range wireless communications. This difference in data rates can mainly be explained by the limited allowed frequency spectrum, the nature of the radio signal and the high requirements imposed on all hardware designed for high speed and wideband wireless communications.
