16. Implementation of a flexible fiber model in a general purpose CFD code
Sammanfattning : This work is related to the process of making pulp mats for use in hygienicproducts. One part of that process is the transportation of flexiblecellulose fibers suspended in flowing air. The fibers should be evenlydistributed on the substrate, and it is thus of high importance to avoidthe formation of fiber flocks during the transportation. LÄS MER
17. Ett flicklaboratorium i valda bitar : Skeva flickor i svenskspråkig prosa från 1980 till 2005
Sammanfattning : Girlhood is a recurring theme and problem in contemporary Swedish and Finland Swedish literature. The writings of Monika Fagerholm, Mare Kandre and Inger Edelfeldt and many other authors are full of girls not wanting or not being able to be Proper Girls. LÄS MER
18. Femtosecond Dynamics of Dissociation and Isomerization Reactions in Solutions
Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this work has been to investigate the fundamental dynamics of photodissociation and photo-induced isomerization reactions in the condensed phase. These "elementary" reactions have been chosen as model processes for exploring the influence of the solvent on a chemical event, as well as the factors that control this influence. LÄS MER
19. Strongly Correlated Moiré Materials
Sammanfattning : Recent advances in materials science have established Moiré materials as a new highly tunable and versatile form of quantum matter. When two dimensional atomic layers are brought into proximity, a tiny relative twist or a slight lattice mismatch produces Moiré patterns manifested in a superlattice structure with a lattice constant that is much larger than the lattice constants of the constituent layers. 20. The optical properties of automatically darkening welding filters based on liquid crystal technology
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the problem of the poor optical angular properties displayed by automatically darkening welding filters that are based on liquid crystal technology. It is shown that by reducing thetwist-angle present in the liquid crystal cell to below that of 90° together with employment of a novel polariser arrangement, an optical shutter design using a double-cell construction is obtained thatpossesses a reduced angular transmittance variation when in the activated phase.
