  1. 6. Microstructure and Texture of Additive Manufactured Ti-6Al-4V

    Författare :Magnus Neikter; Marta-Lena Antti; Johan Moverare; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Additive manufacturing; microstructure; Ti-6Al-4V; texture; Material Mechanics; Materialmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM) for metals is a manufacturing process that has increased a lot in popularity last few years as it has experienced significant improvements since its beginning, both when it comes to accuracy and deposition rates. There are many different AM processes where the energy sources and deposition methods varies. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Microstructures and surface roughness of EBM produced Ti-6Al-4V

    Författare :Safdar Adnan; Malmö högskola; []
    Nyckelord :EBM; Ti-6Al-4V;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this dissertation is concerned with the microstructures andsurface roughness of test slabs of Ti-6Al-4V produced by one of powder based AdditiveManufacturing (AM) technique namely Electron Beam melting (EBM). The effects of processparameters of a EBM system and geometry factors of a EBM build such as slabs’ thickness andheight etc. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Cryogenic Machining of Ti-6Al-4V

    Författare :Simon Isakson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cryogenic machining; Titanium; Surface integrity; Wear; Residual stress;

    Sammanfattning : The use of cryogenic coolants such as liquid nitrogen or liquid carbon dioxide has emerged as a sustainable alternative to conventional cutting fluids during machining operations, with the potential to increase tool life, leading to productivity gains, as well as to improve the surface integrity of the machined components. In addition, the machined surfaces are left residue-free after the process and there are no used cutting fluids to dispose of. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Microstructure model for Ti-6Al-4V used in simulation of additive manufacturing

    Författare :Corinne Charles Murgau; Lars-Erik Lindgren; Niklas Järvstråt; Robert Pederson; Sören Sjöström; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Titanium alloy; Ti-6Al-4V; Welding; Metal deposition; Additive manufacturing; Wire feed; Finite Element Method; Microstructure model; Johnson-Mehl-Avrami- Kolmogorov; Thermally driven; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik; Material Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is devoted to microstructure modelling of Ti-6Al-4V. The microstructure and the mechanical properties of titanium alloys are highly dependent on the temperature history experienced by the material. The developed microstructure model accounts for thermaldriving forces and is applicable for general temperature histories. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti-6Al-4V welds produced with different processes

    Författare :Sakari Tolvanen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fatigue; welding; porosity; microstructure; defects; Ti-6Al-4V;

    Sammanfattning : Titanium alloys are widely used for components in the fan and compressor sections of aeroengines mainly because of their superior strength-to-weight ratio. Large static compressor components can be manufactured by welding together smaller subcomponents, which has potential to provide benefits such as higher buy-to-fly ratio and improved performance of the components.
