1. Thermochromic VO2-based materials for smart windows : Progress towards applications in buildings
Sammanfattning : Vanadium dioxide is a well-known thermochromic material, whose optical properties can be varied reversibly in response to fluctuation of temperature. It is attractive in various fields due to its unique properties as well as its prospective applications. LÄS MER
2. On textile printing with thermochromic inks
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes an exploration of the principles of applying leuco dye-based inks to textile design practice. The main motivation has been to explore the design properties and potentials of leuco dye-based thermochromic inks when printed on textiles in order to obtain an understanding and facilitate the design of dynamic surface patterns. 3. VO2-based Thermochromic and Nanothermochromic Materials for Energy-Efficient Windows : Computational and Experimental Studies
Sammanfattning : VO2-based films are thermochromic and exhibit high or low infrared transmittance when the temperature is below or above a critical temperature. The thermochromic switching is passive and reversible, and therefore VO2 based films are promising for energy-efficient window applications. LÄS MER
4. A study of heat transfer from cylinders in turbulent flows by using thermochromic liquid crystals
Sammanfattning : In gas quenching, metal parts are rapidly cooled from hightemperatures, and the convection heat transfer coefficientdistributions are of importance for the hardness and thedistortion (the shape nonuniformities) of the quenched parts.Thermochromic liquid crystals (TLC) and a thin foil techniques, were investi- gated and used for studies of a circular cylinderin axial flows, affected and not affected by upstream owmodifying inserts. 5. Creating diverse colour-changing effects on textiles
Sammanfattning : With the technological progress of materials science, the palette of colours with which to print on textiles has expanded beyond those with previously known properties and expressions to a new generation, with more advanced functionality and expressive properties. This new range of colours is characterised by their ability when printed on textiles to change colour in relation to external factors and internal programmes; for example, leuco dye-based thermochromic inks generally change colour in response to temperature fluctuations.
