    Författare :Jia Liu; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a devastating condition without a cure. The SCI process comprises an initially mechanical trauma and a secondary cascade of events including a robust inflammatory and immune response. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Immunogenetic markers in immune mediated diseases

    Författare :Liene Nikitina-Zake; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :HLA; MICA; TNFA; TNFa; KIR; CIN; cervical cancer; juvenile arthritis; MCTD; type I diabetes mellitus;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study HLA class II markers, as well as other - MHC and non MHC genes in different immune - mediated diseases, namely, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), cervical cancer, juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD) and type I diabetes mellitus (T1 DM). HLA class II genes are located on the short arm of chromosome 6 and are known to be important for pathogenesis of immune-mediated diseases due to the function of the molecules these genes encode. 3. 3. Studies of the immunopathogenesis of arthritis, with an emphasis on the alarmin HMGB1

    Författare :Heshuang Qu; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Dysregulated inflammatory responses are characterized by the excessive release of endogenous inflammatory molecules, which initiate a chain of reactions, including immune cell infiltration, activation, polarization, necrosis, apoptosis and pyroptosis. These changes in cell distribution and status can lead to tissue damage, represented by swelling, pain, redness, heat and loss of function. LÄS MER
