    Sammanfattning : Modular battery systems based on multilevel inverter (MLI) topologies can possibly overcome some shortcomings of two-level inverters when used for vehicle propulsion. The results presented in this thesis aim to point out the advantages and disadvantages, as well as the technical challenges, of modular vehicle battery systems based on MLIs in comparison to a conventional, two-level IGBT inverter drivetrain.     Sammanfattning : The present demand for higher efficiency and flexibility in the energy sector has ledto an increased use of power electronic generated waveforms as these allow energyconversion between different frequencies including DC. The generated waveformsare usually synthesized by so called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) techniques,where the desired waveform is approximated by a number of square shaped pulseswith a short rise time.     Sammanfattning : The viability of employing fibre reinforcement to improve the durability performance of RC structures by delaying and/or reducing rebar corrosion and by mitigating the structural impact of corrosion-induced damage have been investigated. Given the enhanced crack control of FRC, it could be advantageous to use fibres in civil engineering structures to decrease the ingress of corrosion-initiation substances. LÄS MER
