1. Vision-based Human Detection from Mobile Machinery in Industrial Environments
Sammanfattning : The problem addressed in this thesis is the detection, localisation and tracking of human workers from mobile industrial machinery using a customised vision system developed at Örebro University. Coined the RefleX Vision System, its hardware configuration and computer vision algorithms were specifically designed for real-world industrial scenarios where workers are required to wear protective high-visibility garments with retro-reflective markers. 2. Mycobacterial infection: Immune evasion, host susceptibility and immunological markers of diagnostic importance
Sammanfattning : IIn the first study, we investigated the functional implications of prolonged TLR signalling on IFN-γ mediated killing of mycobacteria by murine macrophages in vitro. TLR2, but not TLR4 ligation interfered with IFN-γ mediated killing of mycobacteria in macrophages. LÄS MER
3. Analysis of body motions based on optical markers. Accuracy, error analysis and clinical applications
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to evaluate the influence of soft-tissue artefacts on analyses of body motions based on optical markers. A second aim is to apply instrumented gait analysis in clinical situations. Introduction: Instrumented gait analysis has been used since 1960 as a clinical evaluation/investigative tool at orthopaedic clinics. LÄS MER
4. Quantification of skeletal, muscular and kinematics parameters in scoliosis : methodological and clinical studies
Sammanfattning : This dissertation presents new methods derived for precise evaluation of a number of anatomical and functional variables of the complex thoracospinal deformity in scoliosis. By consensus the scoliotic angle at the frontal plane is measured on radiographs using the Cobb method. LÄS MER
5. Early onset spine deformity : outcome of surgical treatment and 3D movement analysis of sitting
Sammanfattning : Early onset, non-idiopathic spine deformities are progressive and associated with increased respiratory and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality as well as neurological and functional deteriorations. If untreated, the deformity progression can continue throughout the adult life and conclude with early mortality mostly due to cardio-pulmonary reason. LÄS MER
