26. Transition Metal-Mediated Selective Functionalizations of Bio-Derived Building Blocks
Sammanfattning : In order to transition to a more sustainable chemical industry, it is necessary to replace the fossil starting materials that are largely used today with renewable ones. Starting materials available from abundant natural sources, or which can be efficiently produced via a biotransformation, are of high interest in this regard. LÄS MER
27. Exploiting enzyme promiscuity for rational design
Sammanfattning : Enzymes are today well recognized in various industrial applications, being an important component in detergents, and catalysts in the production of agrochemicals, foods, pharmaceuticals, and fine chemicals. Their large use is mainly due to their high selectivity and environmental advantage, compared to traditional catalysts. LÄS MER
28. Reaction and Diffusion Phenomena in Biomimetic Nanoscale Reactors and Networks
Sammanfattning : Methods for construction of geometrically complex, fully connected surface-immobilized microscopic networks of phospholipid bilayer vesicles (1-50 µm in diameter) interconnected by lipid nanotubes (100-300 nm in diameter), have been developed. The networks have controlled connectivity and are well-defined with regard to the container size, content, angle between nanotube extensions, and nanotube length. LÄS MER
29. Towards Rational Design of Asymmetric Catalyst for Organometallic and Organocatalytic Reactions
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with synthetically modified chiral molecules and their application in asymmetric catalysis. The first part of the thesis describes the use of commercially available chiral diamine ligands in the iridium catalyzed transfer hydrogenation of aromatic ketones. LÄS MER
30. Computational Modeling of Reaction and Diffusion Processes in Mammalian Cell
Sammanfattning : PAHs are the reactive toxic chemical compounds which are present as environmental pollutants. These reactive compounds not only diffuse through the membranes of the cell but also partition into the membranes. They react with the DNA of the cell giving rise to toxicity and may cause cancer.
