  1. 16. Benefits of Non-Linear Mixed Effect Modeling and Optimal Design : Pre-Clinical and Clinical Study Applications

    Författare :Charles Ernest II; Andrew Hooker; Mats Karlsson; Bart Ploeger; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pharmacometrics; optimal design; nonlinear mixed effects models; population models; Pharmaceutical Science; Farmaceutisk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Despite the growing promise of pharmaceutical research, inferior experimentation or interpretation of data can inhibit breakthrough molecules from finding their way out of research institutions and reaching patients. This thesis provides evidence that better characterization of pre-clinical and clinical data can be accomplished using non-linear mixed effect modeling (NLMEM) and more effective experiments can be conducted using optimal design (OD). 2. 17. A comparative study of some multiple-criteria methods

    Författare :Bertil Tell; Handelshögskolan i Stockholm; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : The interest in formal methods for handling multiple-criteria problems has increased during the last few years. A number of different approaches have been suggested but only a few implementations have been reported. In this dissertation several multiple-criteria methods based on utility theory are analyzed and compared. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Bias and Precision in Biomechanical Exposure Assessment : Making the Most of our Methods

    Författare :Jennie Jackson; Svend Erik Mathiassen; Eva Vingård; Mikael Forsman; Peter Johnson; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; measurement strategy; accuracy; inclinometry; electromyography; EMG; upper arm; shoulder; low back; lumbar; thoracic; Health-Promoting Work; Hälsofrämjande arbete;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Insufficient exposure assessment is a suggested contributing factor to the current lack of clearly characterised relationships between occupational biomechanical risk factors and musculoskeletal disorders. Minimal attention has been paid to the potential bias of measurement tools from expected true values (i.e. LÄS MER

  4. 19. On the Precision Grip in Manual Transport

    Författare :Nasser Hosseini; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the present study was to investigate the grip and load force relations in the precision grip (between thumb and index finger) in static and dynamic situations, and to develop automatic procedures for the analysis of position and force data from tests involving the precision grip. The goal of the work was to create physiologically based methods for identification and quantitative determination of disturbances in the nervous control of hand motor function. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Artificial intelligence for breast cancer precision pathology

    Författare :Yinxi Wang; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Breast cancer is the most common cancer type in women globally but is associated with a continuous decline in mortality rates. The improved prognosis can be partially attributed to effective treatments developed for subgroups of patients. However, nowadays, it remains challenging to optimise treatment plans for each individual. LÄS MER
