  1. 1. Population viability analysis for plants : practical recommendations and applications

    Författare :Satu Ramula; Kari Lehtilä; Patrik Dinnétz; Esa Ranta; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; demography; matrix population models; population viability analysis; population growth rate; stochastic models; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Population viability analysis (PVA) is commonly used in conservation biology to predict population viability in terms of population growth rate and risk of extinction. However, large data requirements limit the use of PVA for many rare and threatened species. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Population Genetic Methods and Applications to Human Genomes

    Författare :Lucie Gattepaille; Mattias Jakobsson; Kevin Thornton; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Population genetics; Human evolution; Genetic diversity; Genetic differentiation; Adaptation; Population structure; Effective population size; Biology with specialization in Evolutionary Genetics; Biologi med inriktning mot evolutionär genetik;

    Sammanfattning : Population Genetics has led to countless numbers of fruitful studies of evolution, due to its abilities for prediction and description of the most important evolutionary processes such as mutation, genetic drift and selection. The field is still growing today, with new methods and models being developed to answer questions of evolutionary relevance and to lift the veil on the past of all life forms. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Collaboration and Coordination Challenges in Patient-Centered Care : Models and Informaion Services

    Författare :Monica Winge; Benkt Wangler; Paul Johannesson; Fredrik Karlsson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; patient-centered care; healthcare; social care; home care; collaboration; coordination; care processes; processes coordination; multi-sectoral collaboration; communication; information models; information services; management; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis reports on research focuses on how to deal with the fact that the organization and processesof today’s health and social care are becoming ever more complex as a consequence of societal trends, including an aging population and an increased reliance on care at home. The overall research goal is to suggest ways in which IT-based solutions can enable and leverage collaboration and coordination insituations where a co-morbid patient is subject to care delivered simultaneously by several different professionals and organizations. 4. 4. Stochastic Epidemic Models : Different Aspects of Heterogeneity

    Författare :Mathias Lindholm; Tom Britton; Maria Deijfen; Gianpaolo Scalia Tomba; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mathematical statistics; Matematisk statistik; matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with the study of stochastic epidemic models for infectious diseases in heterogeneous populations. All diseases treated are of SIR type, i.e. individuals are either Susceptible, Infectious or Recovered (and immune). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Transport, Mobility, and Workplace Location : Models and Applications

    Författare :Fatemeh Naqavi; Muriel Beser Hugosson; Nathalie Picard; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transportsystem; Transport Systems;

    Sammanfattning : Travel demand analysis is one of the core constituents of transportation studies. Therequired insight to maintain and develop a sustainable transportation system, in additionto learning from previous research globally and locally, is generated from studyingthe effects of previous policies, investigating future possibilities and potential outcomes,and describing the current situation.
