  1. 1. Subjective Well-being in an Adult Swedish Population : Findings from a Population-based Study

    Författare :Anna Hansson; Pernilla Hillerås; Yvonne Forsell; Berit Lundman; Sophiahemmet Högskola; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Subjective well-being; Depression; Life circumstances; Follow-up; Population-based; Caring sciences; Vårdvetenskap; Subjective well-being; depression; life circumstances; follow-up; population-based;

    Sammanfattning : This doctoral thesis examines various factors associated with subjective well-being (SWB) in an adult Swedish population, aged 20-64 years, using cross-sectional and longitudinal data. The thesis includes four studies based on the PART study, a current population-based study on mental health, work, and relations in Stockholm County, Sweden. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Towards the Inclusion of Pelvis Population Variance in Human Body Models

    Författare :Erik Brynskog; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : With a future large-scale introduction of autonomous vehicles, the proportion of intersection crashes on the total number of motor vehicle crashes is expected to increase. The pelvis is frequently exposed to high loads in several of these impacts. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Population differentiation in Lythrum salicaria along a latitudinal gradient

    Författare :Katarina Olsson; Jon Ågren; Susan Kalisz; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ecology; additive genetic variance; clinal variation; evolutionary constraints; G matrix; genetic correlation; natural selection; pollen limitation; population differentiation; Ekologi; Terrestrial; freshwater and marine ecology; Terrestisk; limnisk och marin ekologi; ekologisk botanik; Ecological Botany;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, quantitative genetic approaches, common-garden experiments, and field studies were combined to examine patterns of population differentiation and the genetic architecture of characters of putative adaptive significance in the widely distributed perennial herb Lythrum salicaria. In this work, I (1) documented patterns of population differentiation in phenology, life-history, and morphology along latitudinal gradients at different geographical scales, (2) investigated the genetic architecture of phenology, flower morphology, and inflorescence size, and (3) combined estimates of phenotypic selection in the field with information on the genetic variance-covariance matrix (G) to examine potential constraints to adaptive evolution. 4. 4. Life histories and population dynamics

    Författare :Annie Jonsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : During the last decades there has been a growing interest and attention to random variation in population densities and their causes. It has been shown that even in constant environments (deterministic population growth) the dynamics of populations can display random like behaviour depending on parameter values. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Influences of Statistical Analyses on Result Presentations of Oral Implant Treatment

    Författare :Irene Herrmann; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Statistical methods; oral implants; dependence; prognostic risk factors; multivariate analysis; bone-combination; Jackknife; log rank test; variance;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Evaluation of oral implants involves at least three major components: statistical methods, study design and success criteria. The aims of the current thesis were to investigate how different statistical methods affect the outcome of oral implant treatment and to statistically determine if any dependence among implants placed in the same jaw exists.
