1. High frequency electronic packaging and components : characterization, simulation, materials and processing
Sammanfattning : Electronic packaging continues to move towards improved performance and lower cost. Requirements of higher performance, reduced size, weight and cost of both high density interconnects and high frequency devices have led to the search for new materials, material combinations, methods, processes and production equipment. 2. Subspace-Based Parameter Estimation Problems in Signal Processing
Sammanfattning : The effects of multipath-induced angular spread and non-zero band-width on narrow-band direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation are investigated. In both cases expressions for the resulting estimation error are developed for the MUSIC, ESPRIT and WSF DOA estimators. LÄS MER
3. Teleconferencing, system identification and array processing
Sammanfattning : The area of teleconferencing has long yielded great interest in the signal processing community. The main reasons for this are probably the huge interest from the industry and the challenging problems of the topic. The problems of teleconferencing are relevant for several different disciplines in signal processing. LÄS MER
4. The PET sampling puzzle : intelligent data sampling methods for positron emission tomography
Sammanfattning : Much like a backwards computed Sudoku puzzle, starting from the completed number grid and working ones way down to a partially completed grid without damaging the route back to the full unique solution, this thesis tackles the challenges behind setting up a number puzzle in the context of biomedical imaging. By leveraging sparse signal processing theory, we study the means of practical undersampling of positron emission tomography (PET) measurements, an imaging modality in nuclear medicine that visualises functional processes within the body using radioactive tracers. 5. Baseband Processing for 5G and Beyond: Algorithms, VLSI Architectures, and Co-design
Sammanfattning : In recent years the number of connected devices and the demand for high data-rates have been significantly increased. This enormous growth is more pronounced by the introduction of the Internet of things (IoT) in which several devices are interconnected to exchange data for various applications like smart homes and smart cities.
