26. Computer Assisted Coronary CT Angiography Analysis : Disease-centered Software Development
Sammanfattning : The substantial advances of coronary CTA have resulted in a boost of use of this new technique in the last several years, which brings a big challenge to radiologists by the increasing number of exams and the large amount of data for each patient. The main goal of this study was to develop a computer tool to facilitate coronary CTA analysis by combining knowledge of medicine and image processing. LÄS MER
27. Cardiac hypertrophy : transcription patterns, hypertrophic progression and extracellular signalling
Sammanfattning : Background: The aim of this thesis was to study transcription patterns and extracellular signalling of the hypertrophic heart to better understand the mechanisms initiating, controlling and maintaining cardiac hypertrophy.Cardiac hypertrophy is a risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. 28. Work-related cardiovascular disease
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to study occupational risk factors for cardiovascular disease, particularly, occupational noise, job strain and shift work. Incidence of cardiovascular disease was analysed in a general population sample, the Primary Prevention Study, in relation to exposure to noise and job strain. LÄS MER
29. On the use of computed tomography in cardiac imaging
Sammanfattning : BackgroundCardiac Computed Tomography Angiography (CCTA) is becoming increasingly useful in the work‐up of coronary artery disease (CAD). Several potential methods for increasing the diagnostic yield of cardiac CT are available. LÄS MER
30. Polymer-shelled Ultrasound Contrast Agents : Characterization and Application
Sammanfattning : Ultrasound-based imaging technique is probably the most used approach for rapid investigationand monitoring of anatomical and physiological conditions of internal organs and tissues.Ultrasound-based techniques do not require the use of ionizing radiation making the tests anexceptionally safe and painless.
