21. The Metallurgical Aspects of Machinability in Prehardened Mould Steels
Sammanfattning : High economical efficiency obtained by utilizing prehardened mould steels in plastic mould making has increased the usage of these types of steels to a great extent. Generally, prehardened mould steels are applied for large moulds and moulds for moderate production runs, and one of the advantages of using this type of steel is that no heat treatment is necessary for putting the mould in use. 22. High Temperature Fatigue Behaviour of Austenitic Stainless Steel : Microstructural Evolution during Dwell-Fatigue and Thermomechanical Fatigue
Sammanfattning : The global energy consumption is increasing and together with global warming from greenhouse gas emission, a need for more environmentally friendly energy production processes is created. Higher efficiency of biomass power plants can be achieved by increasing temperature and pressure in the boiler section, this would increase the generation of electricity along with the reduction in emission of greenhouse gases e. 23. Weakening of Crack-tip Singularity due to Buckling of Thin Bodies under Tension
Sammanfattning : When thin sheets containing a crack is subjected to tensile loading in the direction perpendicular to the crack surface out of plane displacement will occur in areas surrounding the crack. By this the stress state in the vicinity of the crack tip is changed and leads to a weaker crack tip singularity than the r-1/2 by linear elastic fracture mechanics. LÄS MER
24. Precipitation in Advanced Stainless Steels
Sammanfattning : Advanced stainless steels often suffer from complex precipitation behaviour due to the high levels of alloying elements needed to obtain their attractive properties. This demands a correct handling of the material to avoid formation of harmful phases during production, manufacturing and service. LÄS MER
25. Laser Welding and Additive Manufacturing of Duplex Stainless Steels : Properties and Microstructure Characterization
Sammanfattning : Duplex stainless steels (DSS), with a ferritic-austenitic microstructure, are used ina wide range of applications thanks to their high corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties. However, efficient and successful production and joining of DSS require precise control of processes and an in-depth understanding o frelations between composition, processing thermal cycles, resulting microstructures and properties.
