  1. 6. Expression and regulation of CCL25 and its role in T cell localization to and function within the small intestine

    Författare :Anna Ericsson; Immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; mucosa; epithelium; intestine; transplantation; serology; Immunologi; Immunology; integrin; serologi; Chemokine;

    Sammanfattning : Earlier studies have demonstrated an important role for the chemokine CCL25, and its receptor CCR9, in the generation of the small intestinal lymphocyte compartment. The work in this thesis was aimed at determining how CCL25 is regulated within the small intestinal mucosa, and what potential role it plays in T cell localization to and function within this site. 2. 7. Butyrophilin- and Butyrophilin-like genes and their role in epithelial cell-intraepithelial T lymphocyte cross-talk

    Författare :Cristina Lebrero-Fernandez; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Butyrophilin-like Btnl ; Butyrophilin Btn ; Intraepithelial lymphocytes IELs ; Mucosal immunity; Intestinal epithelial cells; γδ T cells; Intestinal inflammation; Colon cancer; Ulcerative colitis;

    Sammanfattning : More than 50% of our immune system is located in the gut. The intestinal epithelium, which forms an interface between the organism and the environment, harbors intraepithelial lymphocytes (IELs) that comprise a mixture of conventional αβ T cells and unconventional αβ- and γδ T cells. 3. 8. Human intestinal T lymphocytes : a comparative analysis of phenotype and function in normal and inflamed mucosa

    Författare :Silvia Melgar; Nadine Cerf-Bensussan; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; human intestinal mucosa; intraepithelial lymphocyte; lamina propria lymphocyte; γδ T cell; regulatory T cell; cytotoxicity; cytokine; basal lymphoid aggregate; ulcerative colitis; Crohn s disease;

    Sammanfattning : The epithelial lining of the gut must allow immediate contact with beneficial components as nutrients and normal microflora. At the same time it runs the constant risk of attack from pathogenic microbes and noxious agents. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Innate and adaptive immunity in childhood celiac disease

    Författare :Göte Forsberg; Marie-Louise Hammarström; Riccardo Troncone; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Celiac disease (CD) is an inflammatory small-bowel enteropathy caused by a permanent intolerance to wheat gluten and related proteins in rye and barley. Even though the disease originate from the small intestine the clinical symptoms varies in affected individuals and are often different in small children compared to adolescents and adults. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Immune functions of intestinal dendritic cells

    Författare :Katarzyna Müller Luda; Slemhinnans immunologi; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The intestinal surface is daily challenged with tremendous amount of foreign material derived our diet and from the commensal bacteria that densely populate the mucosal surface. Occasionally the gut mucosa is exposed to pathogens trying to enter our body. LÄS MER
