21. The chemistry of flotation activation and depression of iron-containing sulphide minerals
Sammanfattning : Thermodynamic calculations, electrochemical techniques, flotation and adsorption tests were used to study the physico-chemical principles involved in the flotation, activation and depression of the common ironcontaining sulphide minerals. Thermodynamic calculations on iron-xanthate-sulphur-water systems indicate that insoluble ferric hydroxo- xanthates can be obtained at a very low xanthate concentration in the neutral to weakly alkaline pH range, in which no liquid dixanthogen is formed. 22. Water in and on ionic materials : Structure, energetics, and vibrations
Sammanfattning : Many chemical and physical phenomena in nature, in industrial processes, and in our daily lives take place at water/solid interfaces. The aim of this thesis is to further our knowledge of such processes at a molecular level. LÄS MER
23. Surface reactions in aqueous metal sulfide systems
Sammanfattning : Surface reactions in aqueous metal sulfide systems have been studied. The composition and stability of various complexes at the PbS-H20 the PbS/H20 and ZnS/H20 interface were evaluated. LÄS MER
24. Downstream Processing Using Membrane Technology
Sammanfattning : Membrane filtration is a very gentle separation technique and can be used at low temperatures. This makes it suitable for liquids that contain micro-organisms and/or are heat sensitive, which is often the case in liquids processed in the field of biotechnology. LÄS MER
25. Studies of moisture and alkalinity in self-levelling flooring compounds
Sammanfattning : In recent decades there has been an increasing interest in the indoor environment and its connections with public health. One important topic discussed has been the relation between the moisture in buildings and health. Cementitious materials, when cast, contain excess water since this is necessary for workability and for flow properties. LÄS MER
