   Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to inestigate Swedish adolescents' perceptions and behaviours regarding sexual risk taking. Specific objectives were to explore teenagers' perceptions of contraceptive use, unintended pregnancy, and abortion; teenage girls' experiences of decision making process and support connected to abortion; and male adolescents' perceptions of sexual risk taking and barriers to practicing safe sex.    Sammanfattning : Long-term potentiation (LTP) is an activity-dependent increase in synaptic efficacy that is most studied in the hippocampus and that is considered a cellular substrate for learning and memory. Accepting the belief that the durability (persistence in time) of LTP is analogical to long-standing store of hippocampus-dependent memories warrants the necessity for understanding the mechanisms underlying LTP stabilization.    Sammanfattning : The research reported is an experimental study on the effects of intensified education of parents of children with amblyopia on their understanding of the nature of the disease, its origins and treatment. Parents in the control group were exposed to the ordinary information provided at two departments of pediatric ophtalmology, whereas parents in the experimental group, attending the same clinics, were asked to read a booklet aiming at enhancing their understanding of the meaning of amblyopia and amblyopia-related phenomena.
