  1. 21. Pathways that govern hematopoietic stem cell fate

    Författare :Matilda Billing; Avdelningen för molekylärmedicin och genterapi; []
    Nyckelord :hematopoies; Hematopoietic stem cell; TGF beta; Smad signaling; GATA2; p57;

    Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) compose a rare population of undifferentiated cells, residing in the bone marrow of adult individuals, ensuring life-long maintenance and replenishment of the blood system. This fantastic achievement is possible owing to two special characteristics of the HSCs: their ability to make copies of themselves (self-renew), and their capacity to differentiate to all lineages of the blood system. 2. 22. Genetic modeling of the Hippo pathway in hematopoietic stem cells

    Författare :Lina Jansson; Avdelningen för molekylärmedicin och genterapi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; stem cells; hematopoiesis; Hippo pathway; hematopoietic stem cells;

    Sammanfattning : Hematopoiesis is the process of blood formation from a limited pool of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). These rare stem cells can both self-renew to maintain the HSC pool, and differentiate to continuously replenish lost blood cells. The mechanisms of HSC regulation are not fully known. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Hox transcription factors in hematopoiesis

    Författare :Jon Mar Björnsson; Avdelningen för molekylärmedicin och genterapi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; extracellular fluids; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor; Haematology; hematopoies; tet; Hox; cre lox;

    Sammanfattning : Hematopoiesis is a lifelong, dynamic process in which a small number of pluripotent hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) residing in the bone marrow (BM) give rise to billions of mature blood cells of both myeloid and lymphoid origin each day. This enormous capacity of HSC has been utilized in BM transplantations for 4 decades and is also very important for future gene therapy. LÄS MER

  4. 24. The Role of Hepatic Leukemia Factor in Hematopoiesis

    Författare :Karolina Komorowska; Avdelningen för molekylärmedicin och genterapi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hematopoiesis; Hematopoietic Stem Cells; knockout mice; HLF; Transcription Factor; aging;

    Sammanfattning : The development of therapeutic methods based on stem cells (e.g. cell therapy, activating regeneration and organ transplantation), known as regenerative medicine, is still a novel area in the field of life sciences. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Switching ON Fetal B Lymphopoiesis

    Författare :Trine Kristiansen; Avdelningen för molekylär hematologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B-1 B cells; Lin28; Fetal hematopoietic stem cells;

    Sammanfattning : B-1a cells are innate-like lymphocytes that develop primarily during fetal and neonatal life, whereas adult bone marrow (BM) hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) preferentially give rise to follicular B-2 cells. Functioning at the interface of the innate and adaptive immune systems, B-1a cells provide a non-redundant first line of defense prior to the temporally delayed establishment of a B-2 cell response.
