  1. 1. Reactions with relativistic radioactive beams and gamma multiplicities

    Författare :Simon Lindberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; R3B; Calibration; Radioactive Beams; FAIR; Gamma Multiplicity; Analysis; Virtual Alignment; GSI;

    Sammanfattning : Experiments with relativistic radioactive beams are used to study the properties of exotic nuclei. The experimental setup used in this thesis is a complex system of detectors for identifying and measuring the 4-momenta of all incoming nuclei and products created when the nuclei impinge on a reaction target. 2. 2. Mini-Jet Production in Proton-Antiproton Interactions and Particle Production in Heavy-Ion Collisions

    Författare :Haiqiao Wang; Partikel- och kärnfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; proton antiproton interaction; Quark-gluon plasma; dynamical fluctuation; intermittency; limiting fragmentation; intranuclear cascading; target fragmentation; heavy-ion collision; image processing; mini-jet; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik; Fysicumarkivet A:1997:Wang;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis is based on the data analysis and detector development of the EMU01/CERN, E863/BNL and UA1/CERN experiments. Particle fluctuations are studied with the scaled factorial moments in the fragmentation region of oxygen-induced emulsion interactions from 3.7 to 200 A GeV. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Evolution of Vertebrate Endocrine and Neuronal Gene Families : Focus on Pituitary and Retina

    Författare :Daniel Ocampo Daza; Dan Larhammar; Marc Robinson-Rechavi; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :phylogenetics; evolution; molecular evolution; gene family evolution; genome duplication; gene duplication; oxytocin receptor; vasopressin receptor; visual opsin; transducin; growth hormone; prolactin; somatolactin; growth hormone receptor; prolactin receptor; somatostatin receptor; SSTR; IGFBP; evolution; molekylär evolution; fylogeni;

    Sammanfattning : The duplication of genes followed by selection is perhaps the most prominent way in which molecular biological systems gain multiplicity, diversity and functional complexity in evolution. Whole genome duplications (WGDs) therefore have the potential of generating an extraordinary amount of evolutionary innovation. LÄS MER
