1. Mini-Jet Production in Proton-Antiproton Interactions and Particle Production in Heavy-Ion Collisions
Sammanfattning : The thesis is based on the data analysis and detector development of the EMU01/CERN, E863/BNL and UA1/CERN experiments. Particle fluctuations are studied with the scaled factorial moments in the fragmentation region of oxygen-induced emulsion interactions from 3.7 to 200 A GeV. LÄS MER
2. ALPACA - A kinetic theory Monte Carlo event generator for heavy ion collisions
Sammanfattning : Recent measurements of collective effect-like signals in small collision systems has highlighted the need for new models to explain these phenomena. One good candidate for such a model is the AMY QCD effective kinetic theory, which is valid for systems in- and out-of-equilibrium. LÄS MER
3. Development of Detector Systems for Internal and Fixed Target Heavy Ion Physics Experiments
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with intermediate energy heavy ion reactions with the particular aim to study the nuclear matter equation of state which defines the relation between statistical parameters of a fermionic system. The development of equipment for two experiments, CA47 at The Svedberg Laboratory in Uppsala, Sweden and R16 at Kernfysisch Versneller Instituut (KVI), Groningen, The Netherlands, are described. 4. Developing the Angantyr model and extending colour reconnection for heavy-ion collisions in Pythia
Sammanfattning : This thesis is composed of four papers, the first two show the attempts made to extend the Pythia event generator to simulate heavy-ion collision events. The other two papers show methods to improve the hadronization mechanism in the Pythia model for a bettter agreement with the experimental data of pp and heavy-ion collisions. LÄS MER
5. On Experimental and Theoretical Studies of Dynamics and Particle Production in p+Nucleus and Heavy Ion Reactions
Sammanfattning : Several experiments and theoretical models of intermediate energy heavy ion collision physics are presented in this thesis. Statistical and dynamical aspects of nuclear collisions are widely discussed these days, particularly in connection with the multifragmentation phenomenon and the possible link to a liquid-gas phase transition in the spinodal region of nuclear matter phase diagram.
