21. Large Eddy Simulation of Turbulent Premixed and Partially Premixed Combustion
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) approach is used to study turbulent premixed and partially premixed combustion. The CFD approach is based on large eddy simulation (LES) in which the large-scale structures of the flow are resolved on a grid, leaving only the small-scale structures (subgrid scales) to be modeled. Sammanfattning : The work reported here includes experimental studies of lean premixed swirling flames. Various laser-based optical diagnostic techniques were used to collect information under different operational conditions. 25. Large Eddy Simulation of Turbulent Swirling Flows in Combustor Related Geometries
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the physics of turbulent swirling flows. Large eddy simulation (LES) method is used to investigate the vortex breakdown process, the precessing vortex core (PVC), and the effect of swirl number and flow field configuration on swirling flows.
