11. Controlling function by structure-intermolecular interactions and crystal engineering with N-donor ligands
Sammanfattning : In the solid state regime, crystal engineering based on non-covalent synthesis requires an intuition about the intermolecular forces that can dictate the molecular architecture. Hydrogen bonds have become an instrumental tool in the self assembly and supramolecular chemistry. LÄS MER
12. Analysis of Sensing Systems for the Detection of Pedestrian Impacts
Sammanfattning : In order to reduce pedestrian casualties in vehicle traffic accidents, safety countermeasures, for example the active hood system and external airbag system, have been proposed to protect pedestrians in vehicle collisions. Such a protection system must consist of a sensing system to detect the pedestrian impact and/or the potential impact. LÄS MER
13. Spectroscopic Studies of the Elements Ba, Fe, Ga, In and Ru
Sammanfattning : New measurements of the elements Ba, Fe, Ga, In and Ru are reported. The analysis of barium contains new wavelengths, improved energy level values and new values of the ionization limit in both Ba I and Ba II. Oscillator strengths and radiative lifetimes in Fe II, as a part of the FERRUM project, are reported. LÄS MER
14. Ruthenium(II) Polypyridyl Complexes in Supramolecular Systems relevant to Artificial Photosynthesis
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the synthesis and properties of ruthenium complexes relevant to artificial photosynthesis. The work includes preparation of RuIIpolypyridine complexes as well as multi component systems where RuII(bpy)3 or RuII(tpy)2 type complexes are used as photosesnsitizers. LÄS MER
15. On Error-Controlled Numerical Model Reduction for Linear Transient FE² Analysis
Sammanfattning : Multiscale modeling is of high interest in the engineering community due to its ability to capture the overall response, while still accounting for processes and structures on underlying fine scales. One standard approach to multiscale modeling is the so-called FE² procedure, where the classic constitutive relation is replaced by a boundary value problem on a Representative Volume Element (RVE) comprising the underlying microscale features.
