21. Jejunoileal bypass for morbid obesity : studies of the long-term effects
Sammanfattning : This study was aimed at investigating adverse and beneficial long-term effects of jejunoileal bypass (JIB) sugery in obese patients. The JIB was the first widly used surgical procedure for treatment of morbid obesity. 24. Familial breast cancer : risk populations and their surveillance
Sammanfattning : Women carrying mutations in either BRCA 1 or BRCA2 have a lifetime risk of breast cancer of 80%. As little is known about the risk of other malignancies, apart from ovarian/tubal cancer in mutation carriers, the importance of other malignancies in a family with several cases of breast cancer is hard to evaluate. 25. Register studies of cancer in the Southern Health Care Region in Sweden
Sammanfattning : The overall aim was to study different aspect of health care use and health care costs on a population based level for persons with cancer and their partners, and from an individual level to explore the impact of comorbidities in incidence and survival. In the beginning of the study all persons in the Southern Health Care Region in Sweden diagnosed with colon, rectal, breast, prostate and lung cancer during the period 2000 to 2005 were identified via the Swedish Cancer Register.
