26. Permanental Point Processes on Real Tori
Sammanfattning : The main motivation for this thesis is to study real Monge-Ampère equations. These are fully nonlinear differential equations that arise in differential geometry. They lie at the heart of optimal transport and, as such, are related to probability theory, statistics, geometrical inequalities, fluid dynamics and diffusion equations. LÄS MER
27. Flow processing and gel formation for producing biopolymer drops with functional shapes and diffusion properties
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the development of novel processes which combine flow-induced drop deformation and simultaneous temperature-induced gel formation in order to create shaped biopolymer drops. The drops are functional in terms of rheology and diffusion properties, factors strongly influencing the consistency of food products and flavour or drug release. LÄS MER
28. Physics of Aftershocks in the South Iceland Seismic Zone : Insights into the earthquake process from statistics and numerical modelling of aftershock sequences
Sammanfattning : In seismology, an important goal is to attain a better understanding of the earthquake process. In this study of the physics of aftershock generation, I couple statistical analysis with modelling of physical processes in the postseismic period. LÄS MER
29. Investigation of Topography, Adhesion and Diffusion Wear in Sliding Contacts during Steel and Titanium Alloy Machining
Sammanfattning : The aim of the present thesis work is to increase the fundamental knowledge of the tribological contact between the cutting tool and the work material in three different cutting operations, i.e. hard milling of cold work tool steels, turning in 316L stainless steel and turning in Ti6Al4V alloy, respectively. 30. On the Diffusion and Adoption of Management Ideas : Findings from six empirical studies in the quality field
Sammanfattning : Management ideas are an important part of every organization’s institutional environment. These ideas affect how organizations are managed by shaping managers’ understanding of what organizations can, may or must do. LÄS MER
