  1. 21. SOFC Modeling from Micro- to Macroscale: Transport Processes and Chemical Reactions

    Författare :Hedvig Paradis; Värmeöverföring; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mass transport; diffusion; microscale; porous media; kinetics; LBM; CFD; anode multicomponent; MATLAB;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this work is to investigate the interaction between transport processes and chemical reactions, with special emphasis on modeling mass transport by the Lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) at microscale of the anode of a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC). In order to improve the performance of an SOFC, it is important to determine the microstructural effect embedded within the physical and chemical processes, which usually are modeled macroscopically. 2. 22. General purpose technology diffusion and labour market dynamics : A spatio-temporal perspective

    Författare :Mikhail Martynovich; Institutionen för kulturgeografi och ekonomisk geografi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; general purpose technology; technological change; information technology; IT; diffusion; labour market dynamics; labour mobility; worker reallocation; Sweden;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation aims at advancing the knowledge about the role of the labour market in the process of the technology-induced economic transformation, taking into account the variety of factors involved at micro-, meso-, and macro-levels of the economy and at different geographical scales. Empirically, the dissertation investigates the co-evolutionary dynamics of industrial restructuring and worker reallocation across and within regional labour markets induced by the diffusion of the information technology as a general purpose technology (GPT) in Sweden in the period between 1985 and 2010. 4. 24. Understanding mobile service diffusion as an evolutionary process: A study of the Swedish market

    Författare :Tsani Annafari; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; social evolution; mobile service; Innovation diffusion; variation; data granularity; diffusion modeling; selective retention;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to highlight the connections between the diffusion of innovation theory and the evolutionary models for technological changes within the context of mobile communication research. On the basis of empirical findings, the discussion focuses on addressing three research questions: Why should mobile service diffusion be understood as an evolutionary process? How should mobile service diffusion be explained and modelled using evolutionary conceptions? And in what way the evolutionary framework could influence future mobile service diffusion studies?Based on empirical observations and a literature study, this thesis argues that mobile service diffusion involves dynamic, developmental and historical economic process which is comparable to an evolutionary process. 5. 25. Influence of liquid diffusion on the performance of polymer materials in industrial applications

    Författare :Stefanie Römhild; Mikael Hedenqvist; Lars Berglund; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LCP; Vectra A950; thermoset resin; FRP; diffusion; disclination; annealing; lining; bonding; long-term properties in water; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Diffusion of liquids into and through polymers is an important factor that negatively may influence the durability or lifetime of a polymer structure used in industrial applications. In this work two types of polymers, a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP, Vectra A950) and various thermoset resins as used in fibre reinforced plastics (FRP) process equipment were studied with regard to barrier properties, chemical resistance and long-term performance.
