  1. 41. Realization of Sodium-ion Batteries : From Electrode to Electrolyte Materials

    Författare :Ronnie Mogensen; Reza Younesi; Daniel Brandell; Kang Xu; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Sodium-ion batteries; electrolytes; Prussian white; Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Batteries are among the most important technologies required to enable the world to move beyond fossil fuels towards a more efficient and environmentally friendly society based on electricity from renewable sources. Unfortunately, the rapidly increasing number and size of batteries that the world needs in order to perform this paradigm shift is putting enormous strain on the supply of traditional raw materials for batteries, such as lithium and cobalt. 2. 42. Insights into Electrochemical Energy Storage by use of Nanostructured Electrodes

    Författare :David Rehnlund; Leif Nyholm; Kristina Edström; Fredrik Björefors; Emanuel Peled; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kemi med inriktning mot oorganisk kemi; Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Template-assisted electrodeposition is a powerful technique for fabricating complex nanostructured electrodes. Through the use of pulsed-electrodeposition nanostructured electrodes of Al, Cu and Sn have been realised and subsequently coated electrochemically with V2O5, MnxO, Li, Cu2O and a polymer electrolyte. 3. 43. Operando Characterisation of Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

    Författare :Yu-Chuan Chien; Daniel Brandell; Matthew Lacey; Paul Shearing; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; lithium–sulfur batteries; operando characterisation; intermittent current interruption; X-ray diffraction; small-angle scattering; electrochemical impedance spectroscopy; Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot oorganisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries have been under the spotlight of research on electrochemical energy storage systems, primarily owing to their high theoretical specific energy (2552 Wh kg-1). So far, Li–S cells on the market have presented a specific energy of 400 Wh kg-1, which is superior to many commercial alternatives, but far below the theoretical value. LÄS MER

  4. 44. Structural, Electronic and Reactive Properties of Pentapyridyl - Base Metal Complexes : Relevance for Water Oxidation Catalysis

    Författare :Manuel Boniolo; Johannes Messinger; Antoni Llobet; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Water oxidation; Base metal complexes; Redox potential; Spin crossover; Magnetic anisotropy; Chemistry with specialization in Molecular Biomimetics; Kemi med inriktning mot molekylär biomimetik;

    Sammanfattning : The rationalization of chemical-physical proprieties of transition metal complexes is fundamental in order to understand and tune their reactivity. In this thesis, a systematic investigation of the geometrical and electronic properties of [M(Py5OH)Cl]+ complexes (M= Mn, Fe, Co, Ni) has been performed, and their ability to act as molecular water oxidation catalysts has been probed.
