  1. 6. Methodological aspects of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging

    Författare :Tanja Kero; Mark Lubberink; Håkan Ahlström; Elin Trägårdh; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :PET; cardiac amyloidosis; 11C-PIB; retention index; standardized uptake value; PET-MR; MRI; myocardial blood flow; 15O-water; quantification; quantitative modeling;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this research was to facilitate the use of quantitative cardiac molecular imaging by developing and validating methods and applications. More specifically:we determined the optimal tracer kinetic model for analysis of 11C-PIB and evaluated the performance of two simpler measures, retention index (RI) and standardized uptake value (SUV), in the quantification of cardiac 11C-PIB uptake in amyloidosis. 2. 7. Myocardial Perfusion and Function: Comparative assessment by ECG, SPECT and MRI

    Författare :Eva Persson; Lund Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; Physiology; radiologi; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; Clinical physics; ST-segment deviation ; myocardial ischemia ; myocardial perfusion ; MRI; CMR; MPS; ECG; SPECT; Fysiologi; Cardiovascular system; myocardial function ; Kardiovaskulära systemet;

    Sammanfattning : Evaluation of myocardial perfusion and function is important in management of patients with suspected or known coronary artery disease. This thesis focuses on the use of common diagnostic methods, myocardial perfusion single-photon emission computed tomography (MPS) and electrocardiography (ECG), to enhance and validate the diagnostic information. 3. 8. Electrocardiographic Imaging of Myocardial Ischemia, Infarction and Scar: Correlation with SPECT, MRI and Arrhythmias

    Författare :David G Strauss; Lund Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Electrocardiography; Imaging; Arrhythmias; Ischemia; Infarction; Cardiomyopathy; SPECT; MRI;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the development and testing of electrocardiographic (ECG) methods to diagnose and characterize myocardial ischemia, infarction and fibrosis (scar). The goal is to provide improved decision support to physicians regarding the optimal selection of patients for two costly, invasive therapies – percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) and implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) for patients with heart failure and reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). 4. 9. Volumetric MRI measurements of velocity and flow - Accuracy, visualisation and technical improvements

    Författare :Anders Nilsson; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MRI; 4D flow; phase contrast MRI; velocity mapping;

    Sammanfattning : In the last two decades, phase-contrast magnetic resonance imaging (PC-MRI) has evolved from two-dimensional velocity and flow measurements to volumetric, time-resolved depictions of velocity fields (4D PC). The acquisition of time-resolved velocity fields allows flow visualisations that might provide better understanding of the dynamics of the cardiac system. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Aortic aneurysms and dissections. A clinical follow-up after surgery

    Författare :Vincenzo Lepore; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Aortic aneurysm; aortic dissection; composite-graft; aortic arch replacement; aortic endoluminal stent-graft; Marfan syndrome; MRI.;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to report on the results after aortic surgery on thoracic aneurysms and dissections and to study the feasibility of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the follow-up after aortic surgery. In this thesis, 203 patients ungergoing surgery on the thoracic aorta between 1977 and 2000 are included. LÄS MER
