  1. 1. Heterogeneity in Car Occupant Safety

    Författare :Alexandros Leledakis; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Real-world safety; Human Body Model; Occupant posture; Crash Configurations; Anthropometric variation; Finite element; Sensitivity analysis; Individualised Restraint Systems; Vehicle safety assessment; Seat adjustment;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis ultimately aims to enhance occupant protection by incorporating aspects of real-world crash heterogeneity, often overlooked within current safety assessments. By investigating the effects of crash heterogeneity and broadening the comprehensiveness of occupant safety assessments, it seeks to support the development of more effective future vehicle safety systems. 2. 2. Injury Biomechanics in Car-Pedestrian Collisions: Development, Validation and Application of Human-Body Mathematical Models

    Författare :Jikuang Yang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; impact biomechanics; car; mathematical dynamic model; pedestrian; safety countermeasure;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to develop and validate human-body mathematical models which can be used to simulate the dynamic responses of pedestrians in a car impact. The main focus has been on simulations of bumper impact to the lower extremities, since lower extremity injuries most frequently occur in car-pedestrian accidents and result in long-term consequences and high social costs. 3. 3. Real World Data on Driver Behaviour in Accidents and Incidents: Evaluating data collection and analysis methods for car safety development

    Författare :Emma Tivesten; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mail survey questionnaire; Driver safety issues; Driver behaviour; Naturalistic driving study; Statistical analysis; Car safety development; Contributing factors; Case study; Incident causation;

    Sammanfattning : Real world data is important for safety development within the road transportation system. For car safety development in particular, methods to collect and analyse real world data on driver behaviour from normal driving, incidents and accidents are needed to address safety in driving. Sammanfattning : Microscopic traffic simulation has proven to be a useful tool for analysis of varioustraffic systems. This thesis consider microscopic traffic simulation of rural roads andthe use of traffic simulation for evaluation of driver assistance systems. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Samhällsförändring på väg : Perspektiv på den svenska bilismens utveckling mellan 1950 och 2007

    Författare :Eva Lindgren; Thomas Pettersson; Thomas Kaiserfeld; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Automobility; Car ownership; Car diffusion; Economic history; Fuel Efficiency; Norway; Rebound effect; Sweden; Transport policy; Traffic safety; Economic history; Ekonomisk historia; ekonomisk historia; Economic History;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to give a perspective on the development of the Swedish automobility between 1950 and 2007. New knowledge on automobility’s role for economic historical development will be achieved by studying the interaction between the diffusion of the private car on the national and the regional level, and the households’ preferences and the government’s regulations of car ownership.
