  1. 6. Interaction between nerve fiber formation and astrocytes

    Författare :Sanazalsadat Hashemian; Ingrid Strömberg; Elisabet Åkesson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; dopamine; nerve fiber outgrowth; astrocytes; ventral mesencephalon; spinal cord; CSPG; CD47;

    Sammanfattning : Parkinson’s disease, the second most common neurodegenerative disorder,is characterized by loss of nigrostriatal dopaminergic neurons. To date,there is no defined cause and cure for the disease. An ideal treatmentstrategy is to replace the lost neurons by transplanting fetal dopaminergicneurons to the brain of parkinsonian patients. 2. 7. Role of the CD47/SIRPα-interaction in regulation of macrophage phagocytosis

    Författare :Mattias Olsson; Per-Arne Oldenborg; Hans Tapper; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; immunology; cell biology; Histology; Histologi;

    Sammanfattning : CD47 is a cell surface glycoprotein that is expressed by virtually all cells in the body. Binding of CD47 to the macrophage receptor Signal Regulatory Protein alpha (SIRPα) yields an inhibitory signal that counteracts phagocytosis. LÄS MER

  3. 8. On Securing Vehicular Communications: Methods and Recommendations for Secure In-vehicle and Car2X Communications

    Författare :Nasser Nowdehi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; V2X; in-vehicle network; vehicular communication; security; ETSI;

    Sammanfattning : Today's vehicles contain approximately more than 100 interconnected computers (ECUs), several of which will be connected to the Internet or external devices and networks around the vehicle. In the near future vehicles will extensively communicate with their environment via Vehicle to Vehicle and Vehicle to Infrastructure (together called V2X) communications. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Endogenous thrombospondin-1 and proteases in the regulation of lymphocyte adhesion and motility

    Författare :Anna Forslöw; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The human immune system, which protects the body from invading pathogens, largely depends on the proper function of lymphocytes, which are highly motile and constantly recirculate the blood and lymph. Adhesive and motile capability is often amplified or uncontrolled during chronic inflammatory conditions such as autoimmune diseases. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Thrombospondin 1, an autocrine regulator in T cell adhesion and migration

    Författare :ShuShun Li; Karl-Gösta Sundqvist; Jan Holgersson; Claes Dahlgren; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunology; T cell; adhesion; migration; thrombospondin; Immunologi; Immunology; Immunologi; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Lymphocytes, the principal cells of the immune system, perform the immune function throughout the body by their unique capacity to circulate in blood stream and lymphatic vessels and migrate in lymphoid and non-lymphoid tissues. The mechanisms regulating lymphocyte adhesion and migration, interactions with cells and components within the extracellular matrix are not fully understood. LÄS MER
