6. Recursive Blocked Algorithms, Data Structures, and High-Performance Software for Solving Linear Systems and Matrix Equations
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the development of efficient and reliable algorithms and library software for factorizing matrices and solving matrix equations on high-performance computer systems. The architectures of today's computers consist of multiple processors, each with multiple functional units. LÄS MER
7. Phthalates in landfill leachates : a signature of their degradation: Analytical aspects & toxicological considerations
Sammanfattning : Phthalic acid diesters comprise a large group of organic compounds that are used to manufacture a variety of products all over the world, and this has raised concerns about the fate of these compounds in the environment. The diester-containing products often end up in landfills, where they are degraded by various micro-organisms, which gives rise to transient intermediates such as phthalic acid monoesters and ortho-phthalic acid. 8. The decline of great Arctic charr in Lake Vättern : empirical and theoretical analyses of suggested causes
Sammanfattning : Human activity is affecting species and ecosystems all over the world. In aquatic systems negative trends can be seen for many fish stocks and potential consequences of this, for ecosystem structure and functions, are of particular concern. LÄS MER
9. Community Robustness Analysis : Theoretical Approaches to Identifying Keystone Structures in Ecological Communities
Sammanfattning : Most of the world’s ecosystems suffer from stress caused by human activities such as habitat destruction, fragmentation, overexploitation of species and climate change. These factors affect the reproduction and/or survival of individual species as well as interactions between species in ecological communities. LÄS MER
10. Proteomics of the upper airways : studies on a new lipopolysaccharide-binding protein, PLUNC
Sammanfattning : There is now significant interest in identifying, quantifying and characterizing the human proteome, and new powerful techniques (proteomics) have evolved to deal with this giant task. In the present study, proteomics have been applied for the first time to map the proteins of the upper airways. LÄS MER
