41. Mechanics and Failure in Thin Material Layers : Towards Realistic Package Opening Simulations
Sammanfattning : The final goal of this PhD-work is an efficient and user-friendly finite element modelling strategy targeting an industrial available package opening application. In order to reach this goal, different experimental mechanical and fracture mechanical tests were continuously refined to characterize the studied materials. LÄS MER
42. Colloidal fumed silica and soluble silicates — Interactions and microstructure
Sammanfattning : Colloidal dispersions and gels are important material systems with applications in many industrial processes and consumer products. This thesis aims at increasing the understanding of colloidal interactions and the phase transition from a colloidal dispersion to an arrested structure in two systems based on silica. LÄS MER
43. Turbulence Modelling for Internal Cooling of Gas-Turbine Blades
Sammanfattning : Numerical simulations of geometrical configurations similar to those present in the internal cooling ducts within gas turbine blades have been performed. The flow within these channels are characterized by heat transfer enhancement ribs, sharp bends, rotation and buoyancy effects. LÄS MER
44. Adsorption of xylans on cellulosic fibres -Influence of xylan composition on adsorption characteristics and kraft pulp properties
Sammanfattning : Xylans are polysaccharides present in large amounts in cell walls of vascular plants. They possess an inherent affinity to cellulose and will thus adsorb irreversibly on cellulose surfaces. LÄS MER
45. Comprehensive Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy of 62Zn and Studies of Nilsson Parameters in the Mass A = 60 Region
Sammanfattning : Comprehensive experimental knowledge of the 62Zn nucleus has been obtained from the combined statistics of four different experiments. The Gammasphere Ge-detector array in conjunction with the 4pi charged-particle detector array Microball was used to detect the gamma-rays in coincidence with evaporated light charged particles.
