  1. 36. Urban building energy modeling : A systematic evaluation of modeling and simulation approaches

    Författare :Fatemeh Johari; Joakim Widén; Joakim Munkhammar; Olga Kordas; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Urban building energy modeling; Urban energy Planning; Bottom-up energy modeling; Thermal zoning; Model complexity;

    Sammanfattning : Urban energy system planning can play a pivotal role in the transition of urban areas towards energy efficiency and carbon neutrality. With the building sector being one of the main components of the urban energy system, there is a great opportunity for improving energy efficiency in cities if the spatio-temporal patterns of energy use in the building sector are accurately identified. 2. 37. Chartist trading in exchange rate theory

    Författare :Carina Selander; Karl-Gustaf Löfgren; Anders Vredin; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Chartist Trading; Foreign Exchange; Overshooting; Sterilized Intervention; Target Zone; Taylor Rules; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers, of which paper 1 and 4 are co-written with Mikael Bask. Paper [1] implements chartists trading in a sticky-price monetary model for determining the exchange rate. It is demonstrated that chartists cause the exchange rate to "overshoot the overshooting equilibrium" of a sticky-price monetary model. LÄS MER

  3. 38. Failure of thinwalled structures under impact loading

    Författare :Salar Mostofizadeh; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; thinwalled shell structures; cohesive zone; phantom node method; ductile failure; XFEM;

    Sammanfattning : Thinwalled structures are widely used for different applications, e.g. maritime structures,vehicles, off-shore structures, aircraft fuselage, ship panels etc., and due to their applicationthey might be exposed to high strain rate loads as blast loads. LÄS MER

  4. 39. Micromechanical modeling of cleavage fracture in polycrystalline materials

    Författare :Mateusz Stec; Jonas Faleskog; Andre Pineau; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cleavage fracture; probabilistic modeling; brittle to ductile transition; cohesive zone; visco-plastic material; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik; Other technology; Övriga teknikvetenskaper;

    Sammanfattning : Cleavage fracture in ferritic steels can be defined as a sequence of few critical steps. At first nucleation of a microcrack takes place, often in a hard inclusion. This microcrack then propagates into the surrounding matrix material. The last obstacle before failure is the encounter of grain boundaries. LÄS MER

  5. 40. Environmental sanitation situation and solute transport in variably saturated soil in peri-urban Kampala

    Författare :Robinah Kulabako; Roger Thunvik; Felix Mtalo; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Environmental Sanitation; Kampala; Modelling; Phosphorus transport; Shallow groundwater; Peri-urban; Vadose zone; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The environmental sanitation situation in Kampala’s peri-urban areas was reviewed and investigated through field studies, structured interviews with personnel from key institutions and administration of questionnaires to households in a selected peri-urban settlement (Bwaise III Parish).  In this settlement, specific field and laboratory measurements were undertaken so as to create a better understanding of the environmental sanitation situation, anthropogenic pollution loads and their transport and impact (with a focus on Phosphorus) in Kampala’s Peri-urban areas in pursuit of interventions for improving the environmental sanitation and protecting the shallow groundwater resource there.
