11. A Framework for Fatigue Analysis of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer Structures
Sammanfattning : Our society depends on functional road communication, and Heavy Duty Vehicles (HDVs) offer convenient and limitless possibilities of transport and services. However, HDVs account for a quarter of the European Union's CO2 road emissions. There is a substantial need to reduce the CO2 emissions of HDVs to ensure a low negative environmental impact. LÄS MER
12. A study on contact fatigue mechanisms
Sammanfattning : Surfaces subjected to rolling and sliding contacts maysuffer from contact fatigue. This thesisdeals with solidmechanic aspects of contact fatigue including the descriptionand verificationof explaining mechanisms. The new mechanism forsurface initiated contact fatigue is basedon tensile surfacestresses from local asperity contacts. LÄS MER
13. Interaction and adhesion at the interface between wood and paint, glue, lacquer measured with DMTA and SEM
Sammanfattning : The aim of the present thesis was to study the interface between wood (Pinus sylvestis) and synthetic polymers such as glue, lacquer and paint. The weakest part of these interfaces is always the bond. The long-term properties of bonds between wood and an adherend are those which are interesting. LÄS MER
14. Modeling of structural integrity of aged low alloy steels using non-local mechanics
Sammanfattning : Ageing of low alloy steels affects the structural integrity assessment as it most commonly causes embrittlement and a hardening of the material. This is due to theevolution of the microstructure during operation in the specific application. LÄS MER
15. Modelling the microstructure, the mechanical response of rock material and the relationship between them
Sammanfattning : Rock material heterogeneity is one of most important intrinsic properties of geological materials. The need to quantify and model this heterogeneity is a key point for the prediction of the rock fragmentation behaviour through simulation. In this thesis both microstructure and mechanical heterogeneity are analysed. LÄS MER
