  1. 31. Vegetation changes on Swedish mires : Effects of raised temperature and increased nitrogen and sulphur influx

    Författare :Urban Gunnarsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; Acidification; growth; long-term studies; mires; nitrogen; species richness; Sphagnum; succession; sulphur; temperature; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; ekologisk botanik; Ecological Botany;

    Sammanfattning : Since the start of the industrialisation, the deposition of nitrogen and sulphur and the atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases have increased. The main objectives of this study were to find how these changes in climate and deposition can change the vegetation of mire ecosystems and the growth of Sphagnumspecies. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Cerebral complications in infective endocarditis

    Författare :Ulrika Snygg-Martin; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :infective endocarditis IE ; cerebral embolism; cerebrovascular complications; antiplatelet therapy; anticoagulation; warfarin; vegetation; Staphylococcus aureus; mortality;

    Sammanfattning : Infective endocarditis (IE) is a life-threatening disease. Cerebral embolization complicates the course in 10-40% of IE episodes. Aims of study were to investigate the frequency of cerebrovascular complications (CVC) in left-sided IE and the influence of protective and risk factors with focus on antiplatelet and anticoagulant therapy. 3. 33. Ticks and Tick-borne Encephalitis Virus : From Nature to Infection

    Författare :Naveed Asghar; Magnus Johansson; Patrik Dinnétz; Travis Taylor; Södertörns högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Co-occurrence; Environmental factors; Flavivirus; Ixodes ricinus; Natural foci; Non-coding region; Poly A tract; Quasispecies; Questing ticks; Scandinavia; Tick-borne encephalitis virus; Vegetation.; Environmental Studies; Miljövetenskapliga studier;

    Sammanfattning : Vector-borne diseases are an increasing global threat to humans due to climate changes, elevating the risk of infections transmitted by mosquitos, ticks, and other arthropod vectors. Ixodes ricinus, a common tick in Europe, transmits dangerous tick-borne pathogens to humans. LÄS MER
