  1. 21. Work, Sickness, Earnings, and Early Exits from the Labor Market: An empirical analysis using Swedish longitudinal data

    Författare :Daniela Andrén; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; annual earnings and hourly wages; short-term; and long-term absenteeism due to sickness; disability; exits from the labor market; multiple spells; unobserved heterogeneity; duration analysis.;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contains a general overview, and five papers on the work, earnings, sickness, and early exits from the labor market of individuals in Sweden. Using relatively reliable data for hours worked and annual earnings, Paper 1 analyses the effects of (previous) sickness on both annual earnings and hourly wages, and find that people have lower annual earnings if they have experienced long-term sickness, and there is only a very week effect on the hourly wages. 2. 22. Life History Strategies in Linnaea borealis

    Författare :Mikael Niva; Brita M. Svensson; P. Staffan Karlsson; Ørjan Totland; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biology; Linnaea borealis; apex removal; apical dominance; clonal plant; hand pollination; matrix modelling; plant foraging; resorption efficiency; resorption proficiency; resource heterogeneity; shoot dynamics; Biologi; Biology; Biologi; ekologisk botanik; Ecological Botany;

    Sammanfattning : About 70% of the plant species in the temperate zone are characterised by clonal growth, clonal species are also in majority in the Arctic and Subarctic where they affect the structure and composition of the vegetation. It is therefore of great importance to increase our knowledge about clonal plants and their growth and life histories. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Additive metallurgy - Thermal influences on structure and properties of stainless steel 316L

    Författare :Jon Olsén; Zhijian James Shen; Dongdong Gu; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Additive manufacturing; Selective laser melting; Electron beam melting; Hot isostatic pressing; Stainless steel; Microstructural heterogeneity; Materials Chemistry; materialkemi;

    Sammanfattning : Additive manufacturing (AM) as a manufacturing process has, in recent years, become widely accepted as capable of manufacturing parts that will be used in end products. In this thesis, stainless steel grade 316L parts are manufactured using two different powder bed fusion techniques, selective laser melting (SLM) and electron beam melting (EBM). LÄS MER

  4. 24. Internet-based Treatment of Depression in Primary Care: Effectiveness and Feasibility

    Författare :Marie Kivi; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Internet; ICBT; Depression; Primary care; Randomized controlled trial; Person-oriented;

    Sammanfattning : Internet-delivered psychological treatments emanate from a long tradition of psycholog-ical methods and should be seen as a natural effect of the evolution within psychology, society, and technology. Psychological treatments via Internet have been shown to be ef-fective, however the vast majority of research has been conducted outside of health care, and corresponding research in primary care settings is sparse. 5. 25. Patient stratification and treatment effects in diseases with disturbed cardiac function

    Författare :Gabriel Granåsen; Urban Wiklund; Frida Sandberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Biostatistics; Heart rate variability; Cardiac amyloidosis; hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; cluster analysis; Echocardiography; Long QT syndrome; Pediatric; Statins; Coronary artery calcium; Computer tomography; Machine learning; Predictive modeling;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Cardiovascular disease characteristics are often measured using a combination of different measurement modalities. By combining information from these modalities using statistical modelling we can gain additional knowledge about these diseases. LÄS MER
