  1. 11. Fibrinolysis and blood loss in major arthroplasty. The effect of tranexamic acid

    Författare :Göran Benoni; Ortopedi - klinisk och molekylär osteoporosforskning; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; oxygen saturation.; blood loss; pharmacokinetics; tranexamic acid; Fibrinolysis; knee and hip arthroplasty; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : Blood loss in major arthroplasty may be abundant and often necessitates blood transfusions. These may transmit disease and entail an immunological burden to the recipient. After trauma and surgery, the fibrinolytic system reacts with a short period of increased activity, followed by a fibrinolytic shut-down. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Acute skeletal muscle ischemia and reperfusion in the rat : The role of leukocytes and the effect of hyperbaric oxygen on microcirculation and metabolism during reperfusion

    Författare :Allan Sirsjö; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Much experimental work in recent years seems to indicate that reperfusion after long periods of ischemia can damage tissue. Suggested factors of importance are accumulation of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) and production of reactive oxygen metabolites (ROMs). LÄS MER

  3. 13. Local infiltration analgesia in knee and hip arthroplasty efficacy and safety

    Författare :Fatin Affas; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Local infiltration analgesia (LIA) is a new multimodal wound infiltration method. It has attracted growing interest in recent years and is widely used all over the world for treating postoperative pain after knee and hip arthroplasty. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Intrathecal adenosine for treatment of acute pain : safety assessments and evaluation in experimental, surgical and labour pain

    Författare :Kerstin Rane Lindgren; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Adenosine; intrathecal; central sensitisation; neurotoxicity; spinal cord blood flow; analgesia; anaesthetic requirement; postoperative pain; labour pain.;

    Sammanfattning : Adenosine is an endogenous compound present in all cells in the body with a wide range of physiological effects. Exogenous administration of adenosine is used clinically as an antiarrytmic agent and as a vasodilator. LÄS MER
