  1. 11. Computational Studies of Magnetohydrodynamic Stability for Reversed-Field Pinches and Tokamaks

    Författare :Donghui Liu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : This work describes the ideal & resistive Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stability properties of Tokamak and Reversed-Field Pinch (RFP) plasmas. The first four papers are concerned with the cylindrical approximation of RFPs and tokamaks whereas the final two papers deal with a fully toroidal description. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Buoy for linear wave energy converter

    Författare :Halvar Gravråkmo; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : A wave energy converter (WEC) of point absorber type has been developed and tests have been conducted outside Lysekil. The project started in 2002 and linear permanent magnet generators together with a subsea substation and buoys of various geometric shapes have been built and tested. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Coherent State Wave Functions on the Torus

    Författare :Mikael Fremling; Hans Hansson; Jon Magne Leinaas; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quantum Hall Effect; fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : In the study of the quantum Hall effect there are still many unresolved problems. One of these is how to generate representative wave functions for ground states on other geometries than the planar and spherical. We study one such geometry, the toroidal one, where the periodic boundary conditions must be properly taken into account. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Quantum Hall Wave Functions on the Torus

    Författare :Mikael Fremling; Hans Hansson; Nicolas Regnault; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fractional Quantum Hall Effect; teoretisk fysik; Theoretical Physics;

    Sammanfattning : The fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE), now entering it's fourth decade, continues to draw attention from the condensed matter community. New experiments in recent years are raising hopes that it will be possible to observe quasi-particles with non-abelian anyonic statistics. These particles could form the building blocks of a quantum computer. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Bayesian Inference for Microwave Diagnostics at Joint European Torus

    Författare :Stefan Schmuck; Per Brunsell; Thomas Jonsson; Jakob Svensson; Laurie Porte; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ECE; Bayesian; Fourier transform; spectroscopy; joint inference; length-scale; Gaussian process; microwave diagnostic; JET; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The major goal of this thesis is to perform Bayesian inference jointly for electron kinetic profiles, a toroidal magnetic field correction, diagnostic sensitivities, and wall reflection properties given noisy measurements of four microwave diagnostics at the tokamak JET. Besides the measurements, this kind of inference considers prior knowledge, like profile length-scales, to update objectively the information about the physics parameters. LÄS MER
