6. Acromioclavicular joint dislocations. Epidemiology, radiography and outcome
Sammanfattning : Background: Acromioclavicular joint (ACJ) dislocations are common and frequently affecting young adults injured during sports. The Rockwood classification system is used to grade the dislocations according to the extent of injury to the soft tissues stabilizing the joint. LÄS MER
7. Studies on acromioclavicular joint dislocations : clinical outcomes and radiological classification
Sammanfattning : Background: Acromioclavicular joint (AC joint) dislocation is a common injury among young sports-active people. The injuries are divided into types I–VI based on the Rockwood classification. The classification system has been validated in multiple studies, but the results have not been consistent. LÄS MER
8. Articular distension in arthroscopy : an experimental study on intra- and extra-articular effects of pressure
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis was to analyse the effects of various intra-articular pressures (IAP) on soft tissues and to provide guidelines for the choice of safe infusion pressures during arthroscopy. The tensile properties of the knee-joint capsule were recorded from stress-strain-relaxation tests within 170 mmHg IAP. LÄS MER
9. Dangers in sport parachuting
Sammanfattning : Background Sport parachuting is a dangerous recreational activity for which available literature appears unsatisfactory to form a basis for injury prevention. Aim Overall: Explore some risk factors in sport parachuting. Study I: Identify fatal incident and injury mechanisms for skydiving (sport parachuting from aircraft). LÄS MER
10. On associations between different factors and whiplash injury
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to evaluate associations between different factors and whiplash injury (defined as a soft tissue injury to the neck without fracture or dislocation), focusing on risk of initial and future complaints. The objectives in Paper 1 and II was to determine whether exposure to a rear-end collision, with or without whiplash injury, is associated with future neck or shoulder pain (Paper 1) and other health complaints, besides neck pain (Paper II).
